Where In The World Should You Travel After Coronavirus?

Road trip

If you’ve been itching to get some stamps on your passport recently, you’re far from alone. So many of us are attempting to count down to when we can travel again after these pandemic restrictions finally lift. But we can’t quite count down when our end date is fluid (and very much a moving target). For now, the best we can do is to start daydreaming about where in the world we will travel after all this mess is behind us. In this post, we explore some great ideas for your next trip when it’s finally safe to travel again.

Sicily seaside

Sicily

Currently, Sicily is experiencing a lower level of contagion than the rest of Italy. And being a beautiful island, you really can't go wrong. Ride along the winding cliffside streets and sip espresso at the cafes of Taormina.

Sicily has beautiful beaches, ancient history, medieval architecture, and some of the best pizza you'll taste in the world. If you want to escape to a simpler time, Sicily will be your dream post-COVID vacation.

Philippines coast

Philippines

So many of us had major trips planned and had to cancel because of COVID. Whether that describes your situation or not, consider taking a once-in-a-lifetime trip that may even be considered off the beaten path.

When it’s finally safe to travel again, all the globe-trotters are going to head to their favorite destinations. And you’ll be wise to avoid all the tourist traps.

The Philippines is a favorite destination for many, but if you avoid major cities like Manila, you can still enjoy a peaceful vacation, and maybe even check an item or two off your personal bucket list.

And if you are looking for something a bit more secluded and private, you might want to consider booking a stay at the private Banwa Island

Elephant in Botswana safari

Botswana

If the coronavirus has taught us anything, it’s that we should slow down and spend more time in nature. We need to pay more attention to the world around us, and we should especially take note of our impact on it.

And there’s really no better way to get in touch with nature than on a safari. Botswana is one of Africa’s top safari destinations with vast tracts of wilderness and huge herds of game roaming wild and free between the Kalahari’s plains and the waterways of Okavango.

A Botswana holiday will get you back in touch with your primal roots and afford you a much greater appreciation for nature in its untouched form.

Boardwalk to the beach in Jamaica

Jamaica

After months of lockdown, we're all going to be ready to kick back and have a little fun. And for many of us, Jamaica's laid back vibe will deliver the precise medicine we've been yearning for. Stay at the famous Skylark, listen to some live reggae music, and sip your rum punch as you watch the waves crash on the beautiful Jamaican shores.

After being stuck in a smog-filled city or sleepy suburb, lounging on the beach in paradise seems like a stellar idea, doesn’t it?

Even though many of us are experiencing a slower pace than ever before in light of the COVID pandemic, there’s still a lot of stress that goes along with it. And when it’s all over, most of us will welcome any opportunity to shed the worries and enjoy simple life again.

Cross-country road trip

If you’re tired of dreaming of your next vacation, maybe it’s time to take matters into your own hands and make a vacay happen now. It’s certainly possible to take a cross-country trip while social distancing. If you plan to visit all the state parks and beaches, you can easily keep your distance while enjoying the summer sun. And this is one you can take on a moment’s notice. Just be sure to check with all your planned pitstops to ensure they’re open or you may encounter some major disappointment.

Also, check with state regulations to see if there are any mandatory quarantine rules. Some states have restricted entry to people from high-risk states. For example, New York has enacted a 14-day quarantine rule on any visitors from high-risk states like Arizona and Texas. A two-week quarantine would really put a damper on any vacation.

In reality, it doesn’t matter where you go on your post-COVID vacation. The trip itself will be freeing and offer a much-needed break from the new reality we’ve all come to accept.

Just be sure to check any travel restrictions before you purchase your plane tickets. Things are changing quickly, and you wouldn't want to get your hopes up planning an impossible trip. Also, check the visa requirements to see how far in advance you need to book. Some countries have stricter requirements than others, so be sure you know what you’re getting into before you hop on a good airline deal. You want to ensure your first trip after the pandemic goes smoothly. This should be the trip to make up for all the missed travel of the past few months. Enjoy!
