The London Eye, also called the Millennium Wheel, is a large Ferris wheel that is located on the South Bank of the Thames River in London. Taking a trip on the London Eye will last about 30 minutes in one of the 32 glass capsules. The National Gallery is an incredible art museum that is located in Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster, in the centre of London. This museum was founded in 1824, and has a collection of over 2,300 paintings from the mid-13th century all the way to 1900. Here you can find incredibly famous artworks such as van Eyck’s 'Arnolfini Portrait', Velázquez’s 'Rokeby Venus', Turner’s 'Fighting Temeraire' and Van Gogh’s 'Sunflowers'.

The Tate Modern is the most popular modern art gallery in London. It holds the nation's collection of modern art dating from 1900 to the present day. It is an incredibly famous museum, and is actually one of the top ten most visited museums and galleries in the world. Both of these museums should be at the top of your list when visiting London. 

 

Harrods

Harrods is an incredibly famous department store located in Knightsbridge, London. The store has over 5,000 brands, luxury shopping, fine jewellery, food and dining. It is one of the largest and most famous department stores in all of Europe. It is a fun place to visit for window shopping, exploring or purchasing. Make sure to stop by when you are in London.

 

Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum in London has an incredible display of specimens from all different periods of history. This museum is a hub for scientific discovery where one can discover the taxonomy and biodiversity of a range of species. There are also lots of excellent exhibitions on display such as the Life and Earth Galleries, Wildlife Garden and the Geological Collections. This is another great location to visit in London if you are looking for a little educational experience.

 

Thames River Cruise

There are countless different cruises that you can take along the Thames River. It is a great way to see all the sights of London from a new perspective. Most of the cruises offer educational audio commentary to provide you with some history and information as you gaze at the sights.  

 

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is one of the best parks in all of London. It is the largest of the four Royal Parks that all form around the entrance of Kensington Palace. The park covers an incredible 142 hectares of land and includes a gigantic lake, a meadow, flower gardens and an enormous amount of trees. This park is great for a nice stroll, cycling, skating or having a picnic! Hyde park is an incredible place to visit in London for everyone!
