Capreolus Fine Foods

Specialising in the the production of smoked and cured meats and charcuterie, Capreolus Fine Foods (who take their name from the Latin name for the Roe deer, Capreolus capreolus) was started in early 2009 by David and his wife Karen. David had smoked meat for many years for domestic consumption.  However, after being made redundant from his job as a professional salesman, he decided to go a step further and start Capreolus in the couple's Dorset kitchen.  It is a family owned artisan smokehouse business and has come a long way since those first months.  However quality and provenance are still of the utmost importance.  This is evident in our sourcing of locally bred and reared meat and the 4 GOLD Taste of the West Awards we have won.
