The Travelling Souk was set up in 2003 by Georgiana Pike.  Georgiana realised there was an opportunity to hold quality gift fairs in the heart of British homes and raise money for charity. The Travelling Souk gift fairs are now a national institution and can be held anywhere from castles to barns and from hotels to racecourses. The Travelling Souk still holds true to its original essence bringing together small retailers, inventors and designers selling their own distinctive brands.

With her fashion background as Georgiana Grimston Tailoring, Georgiana quickly collected an extensive list of stallholders to exhibit their gifts at each fair and soon an impressive schedule of private events were being run up and down the country with as many as 60 different stallholders at each venue. Since its inception The Travelling Souk has raised over  £375,000 for more than 35 different charities.

With Claire Simpson joining Georgiana at the helm, The Travelling  Souk opened up the market place to an even greater audience with the launch of their online market emporium  www.thetravellingsouk.com . Under the careful guidance of Claire, whose experience is in clothing manufacture and mail order, the website has been developed in the same genre as the gift fairs offering thousands of unique and exciting gifts from talented small marketers.

Every small business who is part of The Travelling Souk is made to feel part of a big family. Claire and Georgiana are always accessible and they encourage their stallholders to sell through many channels and enjoy watching them flourish. Ultimately we work with our stallholders always putting the customers first and giving the customers an unrivalled choice of gifts with a professional service.
