Africa – Hand Painted Porcelain Cow Butter Dish

Africa is one of a small herd of cows whose markings are derived from the vivid patterns of the art of the South African countries.  She is very happy and upbeat, and also enjoys dancing.  She is pleased to adorn your kitchen or dining table, or to serve as a butter dish.  

This exuberant, hand painted, porcelain cow butter dish is one of six limited edition designs.   

The underlying porcelain cow has been produced by traditional methods for CHH Design.  Then each cow butter dish is entirely decorated by hand in glossy, vibrant on-glaze paints.  In order to achieve the depth of colour and lustrous finish, layers of paint are applied at 24 hour intervals until the desired effect is obtained.  Then any motifs are painted adding to the unique three dimensional quality.

Despite their beauty and frivolity, each cow butter dish has the practicality to withstand moderate domestic dishwasher cycles.

The cow butter dish can alternatively be used as individual cheese plates, each diner having their own painted cow, or just to adorn your kitchen table.
